WHAT SHOULD COME OUT OF THE AGED CARE ROYAL COMMISSION , 22.11.20

This cannot be just another Review or Enquiry. There must be outcomes that change the industry. Some suggestions....

Restore the requirement that there must be at least one RN in all levels of aged care 24/7/365
Require employers to pay the costs of educating and training their aged care workers.
Provide scholarships for aged care workers to attend university and become RNs
Implement a system of registering aged care workers and require them to undergo professional discipline. Implement rational staffing ratios.
Implement a system of Official Visitors as in mental health services.

The aged care providers will hate all these suggestions as they will whinge about the cost. For some of these initiatives there may be a need for government support .
